The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

This was an absolute pleasure to read. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a story about a human that experience of a life time. the story starts with his house being demolished to make way for a new bypass highway, in a odd coincidence the same thing is planned for the earth to make way for a intergalactic space bypass. Luck  for him his friend of many years named ford prefect turns out to be a alien from some were in the proximity of beatlejuice. he tells his friend aurthor dent our story protagonist that the world is about to end and he has decided to take him with him. thus begins the story of the Hitchhikers Guide. The way the book is written is indeed a British story the pacing and the comedy at times can be a bit dry but is still very funny. To me the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy read kind of like a discovery channel documentary about the universe and everything in it but told thru the perspective of a simple man that has to come to grips of the culture shock of his new surroundings

I live with you-By Carol Emshwiller

I didn't like this story at all until about the end of it. From the start this story I was at ends with what was going on.  I had no idea what was going on with this story from the beginning to near the middle of the story. I really never saw a point or anything in that matter to a purpose to this story. its like the short story just keeps going without a purpose what so ever. I really have nothing else to say about this story

The Walking Dead

I just finished catching up to the latest issue of the comic the walking dead. So far the comic has reached 78 issues. This comic has  been picked up by amc for a television series that is on it 6th episode and is very good in my opioion. When some one thinks of a zombie movie the see the movie and if lucky the characters sirvive till the end and the credits roll end of story. Well what happens next that is what the Walking Dead is all about. What happens next. The walking dead is not packed with action at every turn, its not filled with super zombies with strange powers what this story has is people, characters so to speak this is a story that is character driven. Of the 78 issues of this comic you join Rick Grimmes a former police officer on his quest to find and then protect his family. The story focuses on him the most and his trials and tribulations to survive and protect. Threw the comic we meet many people and also meet with a doom of these characters to there likely death. And its these characters and there stories that shape the entire universe that makes the walking dead a smash hit.

Blade Runner & Johnny Mnemonic

This is a story that I like a lot. This has all the representation of all the elements of cyber punk it represents the future of what might be. This is a representation of what social life is now. The poor are poor and the rich are rich. Its a world of film noir in the future. Its a take on the future of that of a true reality not the world that many people have build in many story's, that there is no poverty and everything has been build clean and white a very sterile environment. One of the things I like most about the movie is the futuristic past if that makes any sense, the take on the future that still uses elements of the past. Like in the movie Blade Runner and also the story Johnny Mnemonic where everything has a future type tech to it but in many cases the story refurs to a large amount of slum like world. This may be the future but life still sucks for everyone. And the way things are described as being the norm and can be kind of lame, like this exert from Johnny Mnemonic this is a description of a person in the story  "like your standard tourist tech, in plastic zoris and a silly Hawaiian shirt printed with blowups of his firm's most popular microprocessor" what I love about this is that its uses simple speech just talking about how chessy this guy is but it described in a way that makes tech sound like this now gimmick, low class, touristy kind of feel. On a side note one of my favorite thing of Mnemonic is the Asian influences such as the how many of the environments are set to look and feel like modern Japan or a Tokyo of the future but mixed with New York
